Refund Policy

Why we don’t refund subscriptions — and how our free tier lets you try everything that matters before you pay. Written to be read, not skimmed.

The short version

Subscriptions are non-refundable — it’s a digital service with immediate access and real per-analysis compute cost. But there’s a genuine free tier (30 min a month, plus a 5-minute guest trial) so you can try everything before you pay. Cancel anytime; you keep paid features until the period ends. If a charge went wrong, don’t worry — talk to us and we’ll make it right.

The policy: no refunds

Paid subscriptions (Pro and Max) are non-refundable. When you subscribe you’re charged for the billing period you chose (monthly or annual), and that payment isn’t returned once the period has begun — including any unused time if you cancel partway through.

You can cancel anytime from your account settings or the billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your paid features until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, then drop back to Free. Your practice history stays put either way.

Why we don’t refund

We keep this simple and honest rather than hide it in the fine print:

  • It’s a digital service with immediate access. The moment you subscribe, every paid feature unlocks — there’s nothing to return.
  • Every analysis has a real cost. Your recordings run through speech-AI models on our servers; that compute is spent the instant you practise, whether or not you keep the subscription.
  • There’s a genuine free tier to try first (below), so nobody has to pay to find out whether sayit works for them.

Try before you buy — for free

You never have to pay to evaluate sayit. Two free ways to try everything that matters, no card required:

  • Free plan — 30 minutes of full pronunciation analysis every month: per-sound feedback, real IPA on every word, and your progress history.
  • Guest trial — 5 minutes of freeform speaking to feel how the scoring works before you even make an account.

Use that free time to decide sayit is right for you. Upgrade to Pro or Max only once you’re sure — that’s the whole point of the free tier.

Something wrong with the service? Talk to us

No-refund isn’t no-support. If something genuinely went wrong — you were charged in error, charged twice, a technical fault stopped you using what you paid for, or your plan didn’t activate after payment — we want to make it right.

Reach us through our contact page with your account email and what happened. If you paid but are still on Free, the fastest fix is often the “Already paid? Refresh my plan” button on the pricing page, which re-checks your subscription and activates it. We read every message and will sort out any real billing problem.

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It’s written plainly to be genuinely readable and applies to purchases made through our payment processor, Razorpay. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law that applies to you.
